FluidBridge ("the app") is an independent app made by Anderson Amorim (Surround Services). It reads a Kinetic inRide trainer sensor over Bluetooth, shows your power, speed and cadence, can share them with your cycling app as a Bluetooth power meter, and can record your indoor rides.
Summary
- No account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics.
- The app has no internet access. We do not collect, receive or store any of your data on any server.
- Everything the app saves stays on your phone.
What the app stores on your phone
- Your settings: the selected inRide and heart rate sensor (their Bluetooth names and addresses), units, FTP, weight, maximum and resting heart rate, heart rate zones, and app preferences.
- Your rides: time, power, speed, cadence, distance, heart rate (if you use a heart rate sensor), laps and the numbers computed from them.
- The start date of the free trial and whether you bought the full version.
This data never leaves your phone unless you choose to share it, as described below. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
When data leaves the app, and only because you choose it
- Android backup. If backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may copy the app's settings and rides to your own Google account backup, so they come back on a new phone. This is managed by Google under your Google account; we have no access to it. You can turn it off in your phone's settings.
- Health Connect. If you allow it, the app writes a ride to Health Connect only when you tap "Sync with Health Connect" on that ride: the exercise session and laps, power, speed, cadence, heart rate, distance and estimated calories. The app does not read any data from Health Connect. Other apps can read this data only if you allow them in Health Connect.
- .FIT files. When you tap Share or Save, the app creates a .FIT file of the ride and hands it to the app or folder you choose (for example to upload it to Strava).
- Your cycling app. While the bridge is on, the app broadcasts your live power, cadence and heart rate over Bluetooth to the cycling app you pair with it, like any Bluetooth power meter or heart rate monitor.
Purchases
The one-time purchase of the full version is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details. Google Play tells the app only whether you own the full version.
Permissions
- Bluetooth (nearby devices): to connect to the inRide and heart rate sensors and to act as a power meter for your cycling app. The app does not use Bluetooth to find your location. On Android 11 and older, Android requires the location permission for Bluetooth scanning; the app does not read your location.
- Notifications: to show the ride and bridge status while the app works in the background.
- Background use / battery optimization exception: so the Bluetooth connection to your trainer is not cut with the screen off.
- Health Connect (write only): see above.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
